The Rim of Africa route literally sprang out of a 3-dimensional map of the Western Cape, highlighting this continuous ridge line from the northern edge of the Tankwa Karoo, bending around Ceres and across in an arc to the Outeniqua mountains.

So, while the passage sticks to the same mountain ranges, in many instances there is no path. The Rim of Africa route continues to beautifully reveal itself and opens our eyes to new dimensions of the landscape.
